Trysh brings to the Academy extensive professional experience in wilderness therapy and applies it to the long term care relationship of therapeutic boarding.  A Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Trysh, in her role as Director of Clinical Services for the Academy, guides the intentional family systems work that encompasses the core of the school’s programming philosophy.  She specializes in working with individuals living with depression, anxiety, learning differences, family discord, adoption, divorce, blended family issues, and trauma.  Trysh credits her experiences as both a wilderness therapist and Outward Bound instructor for the ability to recognize the healing potential in natural environments, living systems such as families, as well as in a sense of community.  Trysh’s background and unique skillset serve the Academy by provide continuity for students between their wilderness therapy experiences to the school’s residential and academic setting while continuing to strengthen social and family relationships.  Likewise her post-graduate degree in Expressive Arts Therapy enriches the whole student growth of Academy students in clinical sessions and recreationally as part of efforts to foster community.  An avid mountain biker, Trysh can regularly be found hitting the trails with her bike.  When not at work, Trysh likes to spend time in the mountains with her husband and their three dogs.
